Topics for next dinner party, TBA
From the conversations at our last dinner party these are the topics I will be researching and discussing at the next dinner party which is TBA. If any of these interest you or if you know the answer please share your knowledge.
- Which cleaning products are better for the environment and which are "green washing"?
- Are there any local (Durango, CO) cleaning products?
- In Durango, what is being done with the recycling? Is it shipped out-incinerated- or made into what?
- When plastic is recycled, is it turned into recycle #7? If not what does it turn into?
- At City Market, the giant reusable water jugs, what recycle number are they?
- What is PEX tubing and is it used for all water pipes since PVC has become a hazard to our health?
- And of course last but not least, are there sustainable condoms?
I will be researching these topics for the next dinner party. It will be in the next couple of weeks and I will let you know. If you have any other ideas or questions please post them. Thanks for all your help in changing our ways of living:)

Sucessful Dinner Party!
Sorry for the slow post, last Monday, October 12th, 2009, Stand for Something hosted the first of many dinner parties. We ate a wonderful organic and local taco dinner. After dinner we sat around and talked about different topics such as, plastic and their additives, recycle numbers, trying to keep everything we buy local to support those around and in our community, and an introduction to what Stand for Something is about. We also discussed what the next dinner topics would be. Please feel free to ask question and comments. Thanks for all who joined Stand for Something and hope to see you at the next dinner party.
